David Gregory

by Leslie Jacobs

David and I met through theater. We both drank coffee, smoked cigarettes and loved doing plays and seeing plays. David was kind always. Politics made me unkind. I was a Republican so was Dave. We got along until I got elected and saw what the Republicans really say and do. We could get along but if we discussed politics we both became passionate.

In 2017, we got into an argument about Trump. He voted for him. I voted for her.

We then would wish each other happy birthday through Facebook. We never spoke again after 2017.

So on Sunday, my friend Bonnie texted me with the news that David had died. “Did you two ever make up? “ she asked.

No. We didn’t.

I’ll always remember his kindness when he broke up with Cathy and called me to ask me to call her and make sure she’s okay.

During hamlet he was dating an older woman (in her 40s) lol. Prior to the cast party-he told me-don’t talk to me at the cast party, she owns a gun.

Did I listen to Dave? I’m still here! Thanks Dave-you will be missed every day-except Election Day. Lol
