Do I need to hire a lawyer?

by Leslie Jacobs

I applied to be the social and marketing vendor at yoga & mediation facility in Plainville, CT. The owner, a young petite woman advertised for only one year experience so I knew I was good with that -sInce I’m on Twitter and Instagram and Facebook! Oh my!

On the day after Christmas 2018 I showed up with my homework. I wanted to discuss how to use yoga to help different age groups and how I could help her with social media but after a few minutes this happened:

She read both tweets and asked for the photo. “You didn’t ask for a photo you asked for the words but If I’m the photographer too then, I’d a use photo of downward dog. “

She then said “you’re too old to do this. You are just too old “

I told her it was against the law.

“I’m getting angry. I’m getting really angry.” She kept repeating that phrase. I thought I had landed in the twilight zone.

But, in the end she hired me for one day-and that day turned into her wanting my marketing ideas and I was told about how crazy she can be. Yelling at employees-if they turn up the heat because her father will yell at her since he owns the business.

Oh and I sent her my marketing ideas. If she uses them and I will know-I think I can sue.
