David Cassidy---my first love

The news was devastating for David Cassidy—the 70’s heartthrob from The Partridge Family, as it was for all of his fans when they found out the love of our lives has dementia.  Many have loved this man as I have—I even remember the day January 9, 1971 when I “woke up in love this morning.” Its in my diary that I kept as a child and wrote about how much I loved him and others.  He has always been my first love. I have followed his career and have seen almost everything he has done.  I’ve flown to Vegas to see him in EFX and tried to interview him once—and gave his assistant my T-shirt for him to autograph.  I have never received it back…but that happened in 1999 and I may be over it.

This is David when he was in his early 20's in the 1970s.  This is how I will always remember my David.

I was very lucky when my friend Pam a friend who is a big deal at Mohegan got me front row tickets when he appeared there a few years ago.  It was the second time I was front row for his concert. He was charming and sexy as always.  During the show DC looked at my phone which had a great photo of him as Keith.  He smiled and said—“she was very pretty.“  He always made fun of his looks when he had long hair.  What a great sense of humor he has.

After the show His bass guitarist gave me a guitar pick that I still have today.

I can’t imagine how scared he is—and how knowing when I walk into the kitchen and can’t remember why –this must be terrifying for him-as well as a wake up call for everyone who has some memory loss.  Go to a dr and get checked.  And when you are given a clean bill of health donate some money to a good cause.

A message to David Cassidy----How can I help? You have millions of fans who would do most anything for you. If you tell us –we can do it.
